Welcome to Newlands
Developed in 1871 by its namesake Newland family, Newlands is a vibrant, family and dog-friendly neighborhood perfectly positioned at the base of Mount Sanitas. Here, wide streets and mature trees lead to an attractive mix of both 20th century brick and farm-style cottages and high-end new-construction homes. The north end of the neighborhood continues to maintain its rural character with large lot sizes and century-old apple orchards.
North Boulder Park serves as the heart of the active Newlands community, and residents of all ages can be found there year-round. During summer, cyclists of all levels meet at the park for weekly rides, while residents enjoy picnic areas, playgrounds and ball fields. The Boulder Nordic Club takes over in the winter for daily outings once proper snowfall arrives. Proximity to Mount Sanitas trails and the Red Rocks Trail make this community a destination for hikers.
The Ideal Market serves as Newland's commercial center with abundant shops and services, including Whole Foods Market, Pharmaca, Moe’s Bagels, Santo Restaurant, Boulder Wine Merchant, Sweet Cow Ice Cream, and Beleza Coffee — a daily meeting spot for cyclists. Neighborhood schools include Foothills Elementary, Casey Middle School, and Boulder High School.
The close-knit community, coveted outdoor lifestyle and easy proximity to Pearl Street and downtown Boulder make Newlands one of the most desirable places to live in the area.
